Passion goes a long way...
Masterfully crafted, at night and on weekends
It started as an idea to get work done faster, but it quickly grew into a tool to democratize access to scenario analysis and risk modelling.
- How it all started
This app was inspired by a risk scenario analysis request from the CFO of a Fortune 500 company. My quant stack was primarily C/Python, but Oracle Crystal Ball (based on Excel with limited quant integrations) was required for the task.
After I replicated some results with code, I was inspired to expand this to make this more accessible to people with similar needs.
- Where we go from here
Oracle Crystal Ball is a niche tool, mostly used by finance, business analysts and risk teams in large enterprises and top tier business schools.
As the world gets more complex, and the rate of change increases, I believe that busy professionals should have access to similar tools on a day to day basis. Monte Carlo Simulator (MCx) aims to be that ...and more.
- About the founder
I had my first exposure to quants 10 years ago, to price 10s of treasury instruments in an emerging markets portfolio.
My experience includes engineering, technology, finance, investments and strategy. While not working, I code on weekends, read The Incerto and other collections from Nassim Nicholas Taleb, Balaji Srinivasan, Naval Ravikant and Paul Graham...
